SenseLab is a new and growing laboratory within DELTA providing Sensory and Consumer evaluation services to the industry. Specialised in the perception of sound, vision and haptics, SenseLab employs both expert and consumer assessor panels to perform everything from consumer test through to full scale sensory evaluation, providing clients with insight into the end-user experience of their products. Focusing predominantly on non-food and hitech product applications, SenseLab performs assessments relating to matters such as speech quality (telecommunications, hearing aid technologies), sound quality (audio performance, MP3 related technologies, noise quality and annoyance (electric car sounds, road annoyance, etc.) through to visual quality inspection and haptic experience.
SenseLab provides standard testing for sound according to a number of standards, including but not limited to
- High performance audio codec testing: ITU-R BS.1116-1
- Intermediate audio codec quality evaluation: ITU-R BS.1534-1 (MUSHRA)
- Telecommunication speech quality assessment: ITU-T P.800 (ACR, CCR and DCR)
- Noise suppressor performance evaluation: ITU-T P.835
Listening tests are performed in standardised listening rooms according to EBU 3276 and ITU-R BS.1116-1.
Additionally, SenseLab provides an online rapid listening test service called SenseLabOnline (www.senselabonline.com), allowing customers to quickly get standard listening results.
